Retro Chairs Ravishingly Reupholstered

I am so excited to share with you this restoration of six original G Plan chairs. G Plan is a British furniture brand founded way back in 1898 in High Wycombe. After the World War II era Utility Scheme ended (which limited the amount of furniture available for sale) Britons were clamouring for new modern furniture. My latest project focused on chairs from their 1970s manufacturing.

Under all the varnish was beautiful teak wood screaming out to be rubbed to a shine again. Finished with limestone tweed from Bute Fabrics, it suits the contemporary retro trend perfectly.

In a world where we are always grasping for the latest newest thing, it's such a pleasure to be able to give new life to something new! Restore - don't replace! Take a look at these before and afters and please get in touch if you have any retro furniture begging for a facelift.
